A warm welcome!

Thanks for your interest in our vacation apartment. Here is some essential information.

Our vacation apartment (about 76 qm) has been thoroughly renovated and has been in use since October 2020. It is located in a quiet area in the old town center of Romrod. The apartment is on the ground floor and has a separate entrance.

The apartment consists of a hallway, two bedrooms, an excellently equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. Two parking spaces are reserved for our guests, a large courtyard area, a terrace and a garden are available for common shared use.

The apartment is smoke-free and pet-free; it is not a party location.

Are you looking for an affordable and comfortable vacation apartment on an upscale level? Then our place is the right choice for you. You may arrive with small luggage - towels, bed linen, toilet paper are provided and, like the Internet access via WLAN, they are included in the price.


The living room

The living room consists of a comfortable dining area, a separate writing desk, and a sofa that can be converted into a fifth sleeping place. There is also a large TV with satellite reception (the antenna is oriented to Astra 19.2° East). The TV has network access, but IP TV / streaming is only possible with the guests' own accounts.

The bedroom facing east

The eastern bedroom is the larger of the two bedrooms. It is equipped with a double bed (200cmx200cm), closet, coat rack, seating and storage. Of course, the bedroom can be completely darkened with a roller shutter.

The bedroom facing west

The western bedroom is the smaller of the two bedrooms. It is accessible from the living room and has direct access to the terrace. Here, too, you will find a double bed (180cmx200cm), closet, coat rack, seating and storage space. Of course, this bedroom can also be completely darkened with shutters.

The kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with built-in stove and hob, kitchen hood, microwave oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, coffee makers, kettle, toaster and everything else you need to cook and enjoy your meals - like dishes, cooking utensils and glasses. There is also an integrated washing-machine in the fitted kitchen.

The bathroom

In the bathroom there is a top mounted wash basin with plenty of space on both sides, a mirror, various other storage options, a toilet and a ground-level shower. Of course, there is a hairdryer; toilet paper and towels are provided.

The hallway

In the hallway there is a wardrobe and some closets where other useful utensils (iron, ironing board, spare towels, clothes horse, vacuum cleaner, etc.) are stored. You will also find a modern heat pump tumble dryer in the hallway.

Internet / WLAN / LAN

For our less tech-savvy guests, rest assured: the internet, WLAN and LAN are more than fast enough.

Here are the details: We are connected to the internet with a download speed of 300 MBit/s and an upload speed of 75 MBit/s.The holiday apartment has a Fritz!Box as an access point. WLAN is available as Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11n, up to 450 MBit/s) and Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac, up to 1300 MBit/s). Of course, you can also use the internet via cable using an RJ45 socket. The connection is a dual stack connection, so both IPv4 and IPv6 are available.


Romrod and surroundings

Romrod¹ is a rather village-like small town in the northern Vogelsbergkreis² - together all five villages that form the town have a total of significantly less than 3000 inhabitants.

Note 1: The pronunciation of the town name Romrod is either [ˈʁɔmʁoːd] or [ˈrɔmroːd].
Note 2: A Kreis is an administrative district roughly equivalent to a county in the U.S.

For the children there is a kindergarten and the school, for the daily needs there is a supermarket, bakeries, butchers, several doctors, a dentist, a pharmacy, ATMs, hairdressers, restaurants and much more. Everything you need for daily life is available locally. A charging station for electric cars is within 125m of the apartment.

A point of attraction for many people is the Hotel Schloss Romrod, which is only about 250 meters from our place. Many weddings are celebrated there, and our vacation apartment is frequently used by wedding guests.

The traffic connection

Romrod is easy to reach: The B 49 leads directly through Romrod, and a junction of the BAB 5 (exit 3, Alsfeld West) is only three kilometers away. In the village of Zell, a little less than three kilometers away, there is a train station of the Vogelsbergbahn called Zell-Romrod.

The surrounding area

The neighboring town to the east is Alsfeld. Due to its old and impressive half-timbered town center, it was awarded the title of "European Model Town" in 1975 for its efforts to preserve historical monuments.

The three old Hessian university towns of Marburg, Fulda and Gießen, each about 40 minutes from Romrod, are definitely worth a trip.

The High Vogelsberg offers a variety of recreational opportunities. On the Hoherodskopf you will find gastronomy, a ski slope and cross-country ski trails, a summer toboggan run, the climbing forest, a treetop trail and an information center at an altitude of about 763m. On a clear day, the Frankfurt skyline is clearly visible, and the whole area is crisscrossed with interesting and varied hiking trails.

Booking, prices, conditions

Call us, write us an email, or contact us via WhatsApp. We will soon make you a competitive individual offer if the apartment is available at the requested period of time.

You will immediately receive a booking confirmation/invoice for your reservation. Payment is typically due the day before your planned arrival, but you can also pay in cash upon arrival. We do not accept credit card payments.

Cancellation of your booking is free of charge up to the planned arrival date.

Corporate customers will of course receive an electronic invoice in the hybrid ZUGFeRD format (PDF with XML attachment according to EN16931:2017 and compliant with the X-Rechnung v. 3.02 specification).
